York Street, 30th January 2016

A good turnout at York Street, Bingley was rewarded with an outstanding final between PDC star James Wilson and BDO Yorkshire stalwart Garry Thompson. James had got there with a 96 average in the semi against Tony Clarke, only missed doubles in last leg stopped a 100 + average. Garry reached the final beating fellow Midway Super League player Ryan Hogarth. In the final James raced in to an early lead but Garry must have needed winnings, coming out with a 5-2 victory with a 100+ average with 180’s coming at regular intervals from both players.
The Ladies had 13 players and four county players, Lyn Horne, Louise Simmonds, Giffy Khaosoi from Yorkshire and Laura Tye from Lincolnshire reached the semi final. Laura and Giffy played a five legged final with Giffy coming out on top.
In the Youths we had the best turn out of the year with 11 players. Kai Haddock who didn’t drop a leg all day came up against his brother Keaton in the final. The losing semi-finalists were back to BDP, Sam Hastings and young Andrew Booth.
The next Competition is at White Rose, Ossett in two weeks time. Next weekend sees Yorkshire Playing Hampshire on Saturday and Sunday. Play starts at 11am both days. See some super quality darts for only £4 for both days, entries for Yorkshire Classic can be taken at Glasshoughton on the day.

“Garry Thompson back on the winning trail and still one of Yorkshire’s top players… a great player to watch ‘The Recliner’is an exciting player to watch as he can be doing nothing in a leg and then suddenly produce amazing darts from seemingly nowhere to win legs along with finishes that other players would never dream of..….read match report. Match report from Pilky’s Sports Club

“In previous years gone by Brendan has been the dominant force at BDP alongside Les Delderfield and Willie Kershaw but in recent times the going has certainly got a lot tougher for the Keighley player…. However his victory today only serves notice that he is still a player of the highest calibre and will always be one of the main men to beat at BDP. A vintage Marren performance… match report.
